Do Not Blame Us When We Forget
رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
Transliteration
Rabbanā lā tu'ākhidhnā in nasīnā aw akhṭa'nā.
Translation
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.
What this dua means
We forget. We slip. This dua asks Allah not to hold our mistakes against us — and He has promised He won't.
When to read it
After any mistake, and every night as part of the last two verses of Al-Baqarah.
Virtue
In a hadith qudsi, when the servant says these words, Allah replies: 'I have granted it.' (Sahih Muslim 126)
