Sufficiency Through the Halal

Source: Jami' at-Tirmidhi 3563

اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

Transliteration

Allahummakfini bihalalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.

Translation

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful against Your unlawful, and enrich me by Your favor above all besides You.

What this dua means

You ask Allah to make the halal enough for you so you never need the haram — and to enrich you so you never need anyone but Him.

When to read it

When worried about money, debt, or provision — and as a daily habit.

Virtue

Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) taught it saying: even if your debt were as huge as Mount Sir, Allah would settle it for you. (Tirmidhi 3563)
