Hearing Thunder

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي يُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِ

Transliteration

Subhanalladhi yusabbihur-ra'du bihamdihi wal-mala'ikatu min khifatih

Translation

Glory be to the One whom the thunder glorifies with His praise, and the angels out of fear of Him.

It echoes the Qur'an's words about thunder glorifying Allah.

Say it when you hear thunder.

Its virtue

It was the practice of Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr, who would stop speaking and say it.
