When the Wind Blows

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ

Transliteration

Allahumma inni as'aluka khayraha wa khayra ma fiha wa khayra ma ursilat bih, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma fiha wa sharri ma ursilat bih

Translation

O Allah, I ask You for its good, the good within it, and the good it was sent with, and I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil within it, and the evil it was sent with.

What this dua means

It asks for the benefit of the wind and protection from any harm it carries.

When to read it

Say it when a strong wind blows.

Its virtue

It follows the Prophet's practice of turning to Allah instead of cursing the wind.
