The Dua of Musa Before the Hard Task

Source: Qur'an 20:25–28

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي ۝ وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي ۝ وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي ۝ يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي

Transliteration

Rabbi-shrah li sadri, wa yassir li amri, wahlul 'uqdatam-mil-lisani, yafqahu qawli.

Translation

My Lord, expand for me my chest, ease for me my task, untie the knot from my tongue, so they may understand my speech.

What this dua means

Prophet Musa's dua before facing Pharaoh — the hardest conversation of his life. He asked for an open heart, an easy task, and words people understand.

Virtue

No specific hadith promises a reward for this dua, but it is the supplication of a prophet at his most difficult hour — and Allah answered him.
