Protection, Three Times
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Transliteration
Bismillahilladhi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama', wa huwas-sami'ul-'alim.
Translation
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm — and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
What this dua means
You begin in Allah's name, declaring that nothing can harm you while you are under His name — He hears and knows everything.
When to read it
Three times every morning and three times every evening.
Virtue
The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever says it three times in the morning, no sudden affliction will befall him until the evening; and whoever says it in the evening, none will befall him until the morning. (Abu Dawud 5088)
