The Most Comprehensive Dua

Source: Qur'an 2:201

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Transliteration

Rabbanā ātinā fi'd-dunyā ḥasanah, wa fi'l-ākhirati ḥasanah, wa qinā 'adhāb an-nār.

Translation

Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

What this dua means

Good in this world, good in the next, and safety from the Fire — everything a human could want, in one line.

When to read it

After every prayer, and any time.

Virtue

Anas reported that this was the Prophet's ﷺ most frequent supplication. (Sahih Muslim 2690)
